Inspired by the most important relics and treasures of sacred art including the Collar of St. Gennaro, the Christ Acheropita of the Sancta Sanctorum, the Urn of the Blessed Sacrament, theIcon of St. Michael the Archangel Standing, and the Iron Crown, Mirabilis represents a synthesis of history and mysticism in the sublime sign of art through and by means of sought-after sartorial accessories of great visual and evocative impact.

In 1769 the Deputation of the Royal Chapel of the Treasure of St. Gennaro commissioned the Neapolitan goldsmith Michele Dato to create an ornament for the Bust of St. Gennaro, consisting of 13 large gold links with diamonds, emeralds and rubies, donated by the Deputation.

Inspired by the depiction of the Acheropite Christ, the wax painting in the Chapel of the Holy of Holies in Rome representing the face of Christ.

The very ancient work, dated between the 5th and 7th centuries, according to the Eastern Christian tradition, is an icon painted not by human hand but by God Himself.

ARCHANGELUS

Inspired by the icon of St. Michael the Archangel Standing in the Treasury of St. Mark’s in Venice, a masterpiece of 11th-century Byzantine art. Archangel Michael is depicted armed, clad in a short robe, his sword drawn in his right hand, while his left holds the crusader globe. Featuring the glitter of pearls and stones of high vintage costume jewelry lying on a bed of sequins in gold green red and blue, this bow tie is perfect for overbearingly completing outfits in the most exclusive situations.

IRON CROWN – CHAPEL OF THEODOLINDA – MONZA CATHEDRAL – IV CENT.

Inspired by the Iron Crown, a masterpiece of medieval goldsmithing now in Monza Cathedral consisting of six gold plates with a metal circle inside, from which it takes its name.

That metal would come from one of the nails used in Christ’s crucifixion. According to tradition (cited by St. Ambrose, bishop of Milan, in 395), the nails were found by St. Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine, who around 325 had the Golgotha area in Jerusalem excavated and found there the alleged remains of the “True Cross,” with nails.

Sepulcri

URN OF THE HOLY SACRAMENT – TREASURE ROOM – SANTA MARIA DEL FIORE – FLORENCE – XVII SEC.

Inspired by the Urn of the Blessed Sacrament of the Treasure of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, a carved and gilded wooden work with silver plaques and silk velvet of Tuscan manufacture from the second quarter of the 17th century.

In its shape the repository evokes a tomb and has an opening door decorated with symbols of Christ’s Passion. During Good Friday this repository was placed on a wooden altar set up in the cathedral in the chapel of St. Zanobi.
