My name is Andrea.

I don’t want to talk about myself in the first place because I don’t think anyone’s interested in my story.

Secondly, I believe that elegance, especially today, is also this:

talk less about ourselves.

I would like, therefore, to talk about who, for me, in the ways and in the form, was the elegance par excellence: Angelo Piccioli.

I remember, in the morning when I waited for him to finish dressing, and then I drove to school, I was enchanted to watch him choose the tie to match the dress.

I still have in mind and under my fingertips the feeling of freshness of the fabric that I felt caressing those soft ties.

The silk that flowed smoothly, with colors and patterns that went well with the jacket and shirt. The knot always perfect, never too big and never too small.

It was, then, great to accompany him when he needed to buy something, see him propose clothes and jackets that I loved to touch.

I would have been hours to pass my hand on those soft, warm fabrics that, once worn, fit perfectly.

Once I grew up, in dressing, I tried to try again these feelings:

I found them at Banderari’s.

Mi chiamo Andrea.

Non voglio parlare di me, innanzitutto perché non credo che qualcuno sia interessato alla mia storia.

In secondo luogo credo che l’eleganza, soprattutto oggi, sia anche questo:

parlare meno possibile di noi stessi.

Vorrei, quindi, parlare di chi, per me, nei modi e nella forma, è stato l’eleganza per antonomasia: Angelo Piccioli.

Ricordo, al mattino quando aspettavo che finisse di vestirsi, per poi accompagnarmi a scuola, mi incantavo a guardarlo scegliere la cravatta da abbinare al vestito.

Ho ancora in mente e sotto ai polpastrelli la sensazione di freschezza del tessuto che provavo accarezzando quelle cravatte morbide.

La seta che scorreva liscia, con colori e motivi che si sposavano benissimo con la giacca e la camicia. Il nodo sempre perfetto, mai troppo grande e mai troppo piccolo.

Era, poi, bellissimo accompagnarlo quando aveva bisogno di comprarsi qualcosa, vedere proporgli vestiti e giacche che adoravo toccare.

Sarei stato ore a passare la mano su quei tessuti così morbidi, caldi che, una volta indossati, gli stavano alla perfezione.

Una volta cresciuto, nel vestirmi, ho cercato di riprovare queste sensazioni:

le ho trovate da Banderari.
